Abstract

The category of the transverse is correlated with convergence, multiplicity, complexity, and its hegemony in modern society is undeniable. In architecture and in urban planning the transverse manifests itself primarily in the interconnection between the object and the dominant subject in the project. In the post-contemporary city, transversality can be seen as an “exit strategy” against fragmentation and social “annihilation”. The invitation for change comes vigorously from many fields of knowledge, whole architecture and urban planning remain silent and bound by the reigning deconstruction and project indifference.
