Starting from a Rosario Diana’s teatro-reading (Il buio sulla zattera) about the shipwreck of “La Méduse”, portrayed in a famous Théodore Géricault’s painting (Le Radeau de la Méduse), Author, referring to the utopistic literature of the Modern Age, shows how selfishness among humans (homo homini lupus) could arise both from the “low” (in conditions of extreme indigence) and from the “top” (in conditions of absolute wellness).
