This article features an interview between Benoît Grévin and Andrea Ghidoni on Piangere la memoria. Lamento funebre e culture medievali (2024). The book investigates medieval mourning traditions through an interdisciplinary lens, combining philology and anthropology. It analyzes the various forms of planctus in lyric poetry, epic narratives, and Marian lamentations while exploring their connections to consolation and epitaph traditions.
