Abstract

Jessica Jones (Id., Netflix 2015-) is a noir television series, created by Melissa Rosenberg, located within a fantastical universe of superheroes and superheroines. The heart of its narrative project may be traced in the constant challenge it poses to the agency of its characters. Jessica Jones chooses to dramatize the themes of gender violence and rape culture, including the difficult paths to recovery of the victims of said events. Such paths are investigated in their non-linear quality and shown in all their complexities.
