Abstract

The extent to which new technologies are changing our lifestyles and our concept of the human being requires new thinking in order to explain the epochal transformations our world is undergoing. In this direction, the anthropological reflections of Helmuth Plessner, although they do not constitute a philosophy of technology, can still be useful today to rethink the relationship between human body, world, and technology. This paper evaluates the significance of these reflections and intends to highlight, on the basis of Plessner’s reflections, what can be defined as the artificial nature of the human being.
